Mexico's interior minister died of plane crash

Mr. Francisco Blake Mora, prominent face in the fight against drugs in Mexico, with seven more people died when the helicopter carrying them fell near the capital, Mexico City.

Minister of Blake and his colleagues are on a flight from Mexico City to Cuernavaca, Morelos state of its neighbors, to a meeting with prosecutors, AFP quoted government spokeswoman Alejandra Sota Mexico. However, the helicopter disappeared from the intended flight path and a search was immediately conducted.

The television images showed that the fragments of the helicopter in a hilly area, while many other helicopters parked in the nearby area. "Interior Minister, colleagues and the pilot was found dead," spokesman confirmed Sota. Besides Blake minister, three other officials of the Ministry of Interior Mexico were killed, including deputy minister in charge of legal issues and rights.
President Felipe Calderon canceled a trip to Hawaii to attend the summit of APEC leaders since the death of Mr. Blake. Mexico leader said the accident most likely occurred because of bad weather conditions, and promised to conduct a full investigation.

Mr. Calderon, who mobilized thousands of soldiers on campaign controversial crackdown against drug gangs in Mexico, ministers praised Blake was a loyal colleague and close. "Above all else, he was a prominent Mexico with a deep love country, he has devoted until the last moments of life."

Blake comes from a lawyer in the border city of Tijuana, is a senator in the National Action Party (PAN) of President Calderon. He began his reign as interior minister from the date of 14/7/2010.
